Juniper Draw, No. 018- Wood
- Juniper
- Length
- 41 in.

I found this juniper on a ridge above a dry draw. The head kept its burl; I took the bark back to the twist and left the rest.
Eastern Washington · one of one
I walk eastern Washington draws for burls and twists, finish each one by hand, and sell it a single time.

The find
Where it's found
A burl on a ridge, a twist in a draw. Common wood where it grows, carried out and finished by hand.
Eastern Washington
Where it goes
Fifteen hundred miles south there is no burl, no twist, no woodcarver on the corner. I send it where it cannot grow.
Scarcity sold to scarcity. No competitor can copy a burl, and the person most likely to want one lives where no such wood grows.
The Gallery
Sample pieces, shown to give the feel of the Gallery. New work appears the day it is photographed.
